Autumn Brambell

I am a fourth year Honours BA Psychology student in the research specialist stream here at Wilfrid Laurier University. I first entered the lab as a research assistant in Fall of 2023. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to take on the role as the IMPETuS lab manager for the 2024-2025 academic year! My main research interests involve abnormal psychology and the study of disorders and therapy methods. As well, I enjoy anthropology and its connections to psychology via the impacts of cultural identities on our individual social identities. I hope to further my education after my time at Laurier and pursue a career in clinical psychology

I joined the IMPETuS lab in the Fall of 2022 and have since been working as a Reseach Assistant. My research interests are centred around emotion regulation and psychopathology. Specially, I’m interested in better understanding how emotion regulation difficulties contribute to various psychological problems (e.g., suicidality). I hope to pursue further education in clinical psychology. I am excited and grateful to continue working in the lab and expand my research knowledge.

I’m currently a fourth-year student in the Psychology & Neuroscience program at Laurier. I am going to start working at the IMPETuS lab as a research assistant for this academic year! My main research interests revolve around a combination of abnormal and social psychology. More specifically, I’m especially interested in the impacts of mental health on various interpersonal relationships. After undergrad, I hope to pursue further education and end up with a career in clinical psychology.

My research interests span across various dominants of psychology, with a particular interest in the bidirectional relationship between identity and motivation.
