Postdoctoral Fellows

I am a post-doctoral fellow funded by Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science. Currently, I belong to Dr. Anne Wilson’s lab at Wilfrid Laurier University and Dr. Yukiko Uchida’s lab at Kyoto University in Japan. I completed my Masters and Doctorate degrees at University of Tsukuba in Japan, and also worked for two years at the same university.

My research examines why people's temporal self-appraisals are likely to become unrealistic. I am tackling this question from a cultural perspective. I am also interested in how people create the connection between present and future self, and how the connection affects their daily behaviors. In addition, I am conducting research to clarify individual/cultural differences in people’s perception of time passage in the long term.
